Black Oak Forge is a one-man’s smithy, established in Schijndel, the Netherlands, since 2010. Before that I’ve been blacksmithing for a long time, but in a bit unconventional way; in a reconstruction of a prehistoric village of the ironage. There, the love for this beautiful craft was born, the spark ignited the flame which was burning already deep inside of me for a long time. 

During working at that museum I followed an education for blacksmithing in Veghel, attended by Jos de Graaf. After succesfully  completing this education I started teaching blacksmithing in Veghel myself, which I’m still doing today.  Besides this work I’ve demonstrated the craft of blacksmithing on many historical events with a medieval smithy, and I’m still doing that nowadays. There, I have a platform where I can present and sell my work.

Black Oak Forge is specialized in hand- and utility-tools, made from steel, completed with natural materials as wood and leather. Made to use, but also with attention to the esthetics. The glowing, uncompromising steel is shaped between anvil and hamer to the desired shape. By paying much attention to the aspect of finishing the materials, a beautiful contrast will appear between the roughness of the forged steel and the delicate details. Each product is unique and with it’s own soul.
